You may be aware that Sri Lanka is a facing a political and economic crisis, meaning there is huge inflation and a severe shortage of essential items, including fuel and even electricity.<\/p>\n

We would like to assure our customers that we have made significant investments in our production infrastructure over the past two years, and this puts us in a strong position to face these challenges. <\/p>\n

We also have the benefit of our Indian production arm which we set up three years ago, meaning our growers can therefore rest assured that we can fulfil their deliveries as expected.<\/p>\n

Roots of the crisis
\n <\/strong>
\nCovid-19 provided the perfect tipping point for this crisis, and due to the lack of tourism from lock downs and travel restrictions over the last two years, there has been a drop in foreign revenue and dollar reserves \u2013 as a result the island has been facing a lack of funds to import oil, gas and food and medicine<\/p>\n

The new Sri Lankan government is in talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and friendly nations for financial assistance. They are also in the process of restructuring debt and fiscal policies.<\/p>\n

The Sri Lankan government is also encouraging all export related industries – providing tax benefits and other facilities – including energy, fuel and other fast-tracked government compliance assistance – to go for maximum value addition \u2013 which will help businesses like ours.<\/p>\n

Despite the challenges we continue to face, we are doing our utmost to secure supplies and keep production and deliveries going to fulfil your order requirements.<\/p>\n
