Botanicoir has been shortlisted in the Community category of the prestigious P.E.A. (People. Environment. Achievement.) Awards, recognising the company’s long-standing commitment to building stronger, more sustainable growing communities.
Officially part of London Climate Action Week, one of the world’s largest independent climate events, attracting more than 75,000 attendees across over 1,000 events, the P.E.A. Awards celebrate individuals and organisations that are challenging business as usual and driving positive environmental change. Previous winners include Sir David Attenborough, Dr Jane Goodall and Juliet Davenport OBE.
Botanicoir was shortlisted in the Community category, which recognises organisations that empower others, strengthen local communities and deliver meaningful benefits for both people and the planet.
The company’s application focused on its work over the past two decades to support growers around the world through sustainable coir production, long-term partnerships and knowledge sharing. Alongside outlining its environmental initiatives, the submission highlighted how Botanicoir works collaboratively with customers and growers to help them adopt more sustainable growing practices, supported by the company’s recently released 20-year anniversary video.
Entries were assessed by an independent panel of five judges before Botanicoir was named among just four finalists in the Community category.
The award went to the fantastic B1G1 (Buy1Give1), and organisers noted during the ceremony that the Community category had attracted an exceptionally high number of entries, making Botanicoir’s place on the shortlist a significant achievement.
Other shortlisted organisations included Toiletries Amnesty, which provides essential toiletries to millions of people each year, and Paddington Development Trust and Westminster Libraries, recognised for creating a nature and cultural trail connecting children with local green spaces and libraries.
The shortlist comes at a fitting time for Botanicoir, following the recent launch of its Beyond Sustainable initiative at Fruit Focus. The campaign reflects the company’s belief that true sustainability extends beyond environmental responsibility to include supporting growers, investing in communities and building resilient supply chains.
