Meet the team: Julia Coulomb

Julia manages our accounts and is a crucial cog in our operations! Her fantastic attention to detail and diligent work ethic make her invaluable to the team…

What is your job role at Botanicoir?

Accounts assistant

How long have you worked from the company?

5 years in three months time.

What is the best thing about your job?

Working closely to our Sri Lankan team made me develop a different working approach where we stay friendly and optimistic in any situation.

Please could you share some of the positions you have held/experience prior to Botanicoir?

I was an accountant for two years in France when I decided to try my luck in London. My English being limited when I arrived I started working in Pubs for few years while studying. Later I joined an accounting firm specialized in consultancy for another 2 years before joining Botanicoir in 2018.

How do you describe your job to your friends?

I would say something like “I look after the in-house accounting for a company that is producing coir in Sri Lanka.”
I would then explain to them what is Coir made of and its use as a finished product.

What do you most look forward to contributing to the business as it grows?

In my current position I hope to improve our financial aspect in general. Working in agricultural environment can be challenging for an accountant as we are trying to please our clients with best payment terms possible. Looking for options to bridge the gap between the production time and the final payment is what I am hoping to contribute.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I enjoy having a drink in pubs with friends, I enjoy sports in general.
Lately, I am enjoying following the football world cup. Allez la France!
