Meet the team: Emilie Morilleau

Emilie is our sales manager and makes sure our customers are looked after. A real asset to the team, she’s worked with us for eight years, and is increasingly involved in many areas of the business…

How would you describe your role at Botanicoir?

I am mostly involved in sales, customer service, and logistics now but I have also been involved in marketing and HR among others. We are a family-run business and have a tight nit team in the UK and it is very nice to get to be involved in all aspects of the business.

What is the best thing about what you do?

Definitely, the people I work with, including the customers, my colleagues, and our partners. I love interacting with people around the world.

How long have you worked at the company and have you always held the same position?

I have been working for Botanicoir for eight years and started as a PA. My position has evolved to Sales and it’s a customer faced role, which is what I enjoy the most.

Please could you share some of the positions you have held prior to Botanicoir?

When I moved to the UK, 14 years ago, I started selling cheese at the Whole Foods Market, a bit of a cliché for a French girl! I also worked for a made-to-measure shirt maker in Chelsea, it was interesting to learn about the different fabrics, but I definitely have more interest in agriculture than fashion.

How do you describe your job to your friends?

I always start explaining from the coconut husks up to how our customers use the product in the farms. We now have a very nice video which illustrates perfectly what we do in Sri Lanka and how it is used by our customers. I have been showing it to my friends and it gives them a better idea of what we do, and we will be posting clips of it out on social media soon.

What do you most look forward to contributing to the business as it grows?

I really like working with people and I am looking forward to expanding and discovering new markets around the world. It’s always very interesting to meet people who work differently and try to find the best products in our range to suit them and also develop new features in collaboration with them in order to fully meet their needs.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I like spending time with my friends around a good meal and enjoy London’s cultural offering. I also like to walk in nature, especially by treking in the hills and mountains.
